Advisory Council

The Advisory Board of WIFT, consisting of well-known filmmakers from the Industry, has played a key role in designing the entire course structure. Knowing every aspect of the industry for last few decades, the board has designed the courses in such a way to make the students independent and capable to meet the present and future needs of the industry. Their direct guidance, advises on the detailed content and commendations for designng the course structure, resulting in highly professional and refined courses being delivered at WIFT.      

K G GEORGE -

K.G. George is one among the most celebrated film-makers in Kerala, and his contribution to the Malayalam film industry is immense and cannot be described using a couple of "ordinary" words. After completing his diploma in film-making from the Pune Film Institute, he grew in stature from an assistant to a trend setting director, with a handful of extraordinary films that revolutionized the Malayalam Film Industry since the 1970s.

JOHN PAUL -

With his unique style of writing, John Paul established himself as a successful scriptwriter, with the success of over a hundred films adding to his credit. It has been the sheer interest in writing that led this ex-bank employee to grow into one among the most prominent personalities in the Malayalam Film Industry. At present, he focuses more on imparting his acquired knowledge to aspiring film-makers by conducting sessions at our institution.

K MOHAN -

An all-rounder film-maker in the industry, K. Mohan has done several critically acclaimed films, playing along the roles of a scriptwriter, director and producer. Since his entry into the Malayalam Film Industry as an assistant to the director P.Venu, and also being a part of the success-duo in his association with John Paul and Padmarajan as well, this personality has been a major director during the 80s, which is known as the Golden Era of Malayalam Cinema.

MADHU NEELAKANDAN -

An alumni of the Pune Film Institute, and a leading cinematographer in various film industries across the country, Madhu Neelakandan has always strived to make his shots the best of all. With several memorable frames winning him many awards over the years since his debut in the industry, this popular cinematographer claims that the cinema and camera is like the water and oxygen of his career. He has shot films in all the major industries like Malayalam, Hindi, Kannada, Tamil and Telugu and can be attributed as the King of Cinematography in India.

AASHIQ ABU -

Before serving as an assistant director in several films of the reputed director Kamal, Aashiq Abu made his debut in the media industry with several ad films in his pocket. He soon rose to fame as an independent director with his first film itself, which was a huge success. Since then, this noteable film-maker has been able to carve out his own niche in the industry with several other successful flicks. Besides playing the role of a director, Aashiq Abu has also made on-screen appearances in several movies and produced a couple of them too. After tasting success in the industry, he started his own media production house called "OPM" in 2013.
